Recent Initiatives for Skills and Qualifications - Workshop

Recent European initiatives in the field of education and training highlight the social and economic importance of the development of knowledge, skills and competence. The New Skills Agenda for Europe aims to promote growth by improving the quality, relevance and visibility of skills. The proposed measures affect the design of qualifications, qualification frameworks and systems, and the validation of non-formal and informal learning. They could have considerable implications for those who work with qualifications.

The European Vocational Skills Week

This first European Vocational skills week will take place from 5 to 9 December 2016 in Brussels, in parallel with activities in Member States and other participating countries at national, regional and local levels, where these can be organised.

What is it about?

Through our Vocational Skills Week of European and national awareness-raising, we want to improve the attractiveness and image of vocational education and training. Vocational Education and Training (VET) should be seen as an equally good career choice as traditional higher education
